The source of our inspiration

Ameryka południowa - źródło naszej inspiracji

South America is a continent with diverse terrain. Also all climatic zones occur there (starting from the equatorial climate in the north of the continent, through tropical, subtropical, moderate to subpolar in the south). Because of its diversity and inaccessibility to humans, it is one of the most biodiverse continents on Earth.

South America is a continent, where the beauty begins. Here an old-age tradition and a plants with health power meet modern cosmetology. The ancient Incas have already used the cosmetic properties of herbs, fruit extracts, seed and rhizomes. As an example, the little-known plant (tree) Wiñay-wayna (Guaiacum officinale), which in the Inca language (Quechua) means “the source of eternal youth”. In phytotherapy, it was discovered in the 1930s by Peruvian researcher Mariano Moscozo Castilla, who was led by the Indians of the Chipay tribe on a vinayay wayna. They told him that by using this plant he would be able to stay young for many years. In the days of the Inca empire, it was considered a sacred plant, like the vilcacora, and the use of the bark of this tree was reserved only to the Inca aristocracy.

This full of temperament, exotics, abundant in wild, virgin and unpolluted areas continent is the innumerable wealth of perfect, natural cosmetic substances of great power. An example would be papaya. Three enzymes from the group of proteases found in papaya milk have a proteolytic effect – they hydrolyze peptide bonds. Papaya extract is recommended for cosmetics to protect skin and hair against harmful oxidation processes, as well as for cleansing products, exfoliate and smoothing. Due to the content of sugars such as glucose or fructose, it has also a moisturizing effect.
Quinoa as a cosmetic perfectly nourishes the skin and hair, because it is a source of essential fatty acids, vitamins (for example B2), proteins and antioxidants. It also supports collagen production and protects against moisture loss. It is also used to regenerate and protect hair from damage. Also tuberous plants are important source of active substances in cosmetics. For example Yacon – plant traditionally grown in the Amazon and Andes region – which is a rich source of fructooligosaccharides, with the final sugar inulin.

Fascinated by the richness and biodiversity of South American floras, we decided to create a brand of natural cosmetics for hair and body care using the beneficial properties of plants from this region.
